Journey to Perinatal Well Being eLearning

CLIENT
BC Ministry of Health
PROJECT
The Ministry of Health has overall responsibility for ensuring that quality, appropriate, cost effective and timely health services are available for all British Columbians. The ministry sought an online e-learning platform for a curriculum to support health care providers and other professionals to improve early detection, treatment and follow up of women and families experiencing perinatal depression and anxiety. Latitude developed an online e-learning tool using Articulate software that presented the curriculum in various media. This included videos that were also created to model interactions and show complex and subtle emotions that are hard to capture in other mediums. As well, interactive quizzes were used to reinforce and confirm knowledge, and animation was used to capture and engage the user. Latitude also developed the name and the visual identity for this project.
RESULTS
Based on a user survey:
• 92% of users agree that the course helped to increase their knowledge of perinatal depression and anxiety
• 89% of users now have the confidence to screen all perinatal women for perinatal depression and anxiety
